Do children pay less?

On the VI Cat, yes: children 3 to 12 pay a discounted rate. Discounts and age bands differ by operator.

The Westin, Maho Bay and national park trips also discount children. The Someday boats count anyone under 18 as a child, so check the price at checkout. See St Thomas snorkeling with kids.

What costs extra on the day?

Gratuities, transport to the dock and, on most trips, lunch.

Operators suggest a tip for the crew, and two listings here put it at 15 to 20 percent. Parking costs extra at the resort docks: the Westin listing mentions $10 per vehicle and the Ritz-Carlton listing $30. Underwater photos are sold separately on some trips.
